OSHA Annual Refresher Training Requirements

Yes, a very common misunderstanding in operations covered by Federal OSHA. However, the material can be rather dry, probably does not hurt anything to readdress it every once in a while.
The article summarizing the annual refresher training requirements was very good information. FYI, Fed-OSHA has a publication that details training requirements. This is web address for the publication: https://www.osha.gov/Publications/2254.html.
Yes, that publication does exist. Unfortunately it has not been updated in 16 years, and was missing almost half the current requirements. That is why we added the up-to-date links to all training requirements for gen industry and for construction on our website.
Not exactly training, but my understanding (practice) is an annual LOTO review is required. Did I miss that somewhere in your post? Great information by the way.
Brad. Yes, check the second footnote beneath the table and you will see where that is addressed. That note states:
◦The list does not include the requirement in the "Control of Hazardous Energy" standard (1910.147) for employers to review applicable lockout/tagout procedures annually with authorized workers.
I put it in the footnote instead of the table because, as you said, it is not exactly training. Thanks for the follow up. CC
Curtis, the mechanical power press training only applies to presses which operate in PSDI mode. The training requirements for common types of presses are much less specific. Actually I'm not sure if anyone in the USA even operates presses in PSDI mode - but although I have seen a lot of presses, never one PSDI press.
Thank you for posting this information!
